For more information
The Cínovecké rašeliniště peat moor is a nature reserve located north from the town of Košťany in the district of Teplice. It is situated at an altitude 870 m above sea level. The Cínovecké peat moor was declared a nature reserve in 2001. The reason for its protection is the occurrence of protected and endangered botanical and animal species, such as the common European viper, the moorland spotted orchid, Northern cranberry, viviparous lizard and Marsh Labrador tea. In the German part of the peat moor, there is a 1.2 km long nature trail leading on a wooden pavement which is open from April to October between 9 am and 5 pm. The peat moor is accessible by car up to a distance of 250 m.
