Podkrušnohorský zoopark Chomutov
For more information
The Podkrušnohorský zoopark in Chomutov was founded in 1975. You can see there many species of animals originating from the Palaearctic zone (Eurasia) and from Northern Africa. There are more than 160 species of endangered animals listed in the European preserving programmes. The Zoopark also offers a ride through its territory in an Amálka shuttle train or in the so-called Safari Express. For children there are many attractions including swings, outdoor playground equipment and from 2009 there is also a high rope centre. Another attraction is a pony ride and a network of kiosks where one can buy some refreshments. If you are really hungry, visit one of the two stylish restaurants - "Tajga" or "U Pratura". If you want to help the animals bred there you can adopt any of them. The principle of adoption is easy - you will financially support its fodder and keeping. The adoption lasts one year and then you can either finish or extend the adoption.
