Uhelné safari/Coal Safari
For more information
You probably have no idea what the term "Coal Safari" means? Set out for the Most region and find in detail the places touched by brown coal mining. There are three routes ready for you that will lead you to the area were brown coal was extracted (and in some places the mining still continues) and also to the areas where the landscape was destroyed by mining is undistinguishable from the surrounding nature. A cross-country vehicle will take you to a depth of 200 m where the machines necessary for mining are expecting you. Among those unique machines there is a RK 500 load excavator. It is here where you can see the only piece that exists in the north of our country. The excursion also offers a view of particular geologic layers, which have been exposed by mining. After seeing those giant machines in action and when you are lucky enough to see a herd of moufflons, you can evaluate the fruitfulness of landscape reclamation on the surrounding soil banks and closed mines. You can visit a local golf course, hipodrom or the Matylda Lake that was created by the water flow of a working pit. All of these places long ago became a favourite place for relaxation for residents and non-residents.
