Shortly after WWII, the town of Most became the home of many motor races that took place on temporary road courses. That is why there appeared to be a need to build a modern circuit, satisfying parameters for organising international competitions. The construction of the Autodrom motor racing circuit in Most started in 1978 in the area of the former opencast Vrbenský mine and it finished in 1983. The circuit is 4,219 m long and has 21 curves. Many attractive races are held there (e.g. international Interserie, European Trailer Cup Truck Prix, Škoda Octavia Cup, Czech Republic championship, vintage car races, etc.). A circuit patron from 1999 is David Coulthard. During the Open-Door Days the public has an opportunity to drive their cars there. Since 2005, a part of the Autodrom is a polygon, where interested people have the possibility to engage in a safety driving school.
