For more information

The mining museum is housed in an outstanding collection of historic buildings, which together with the viewing area gives a succinct overview of 550 years' tin ore mining in Altenberg. An underground tour of just under 1 hour through the 200-year-old Neubeschert-Glück mine will have you marvelling at the methods and tools of centuries-old ore mining, whilst ore processing will be illustrated in the 16th-century historic panning plant by means of fully functional processing equipment. The exhibition is complemented by a selection of mining tools in an outdoor display and numerous monuments on the mining discovery trail.
